Welcome!
My name is Gerry van der Wende, and for over 20 years, I've had the privilege of helping people find healing and purpose. This website is a new home for that work, a dedicated space where I can connect more personally with those navigating the difficult journey of grief.
My passion for this work is deeply rooted in both my professional training and my personal life. I hold a Master of Practical Theology degree with an emphasis on counseling, and am a certified transformation life coach. As an ordained minister and chaplain, I have served in a variety of settings, from church and hospice to prisons and addiction recovery programs.
A Personal Journey with Grief
My wife, Dianne, and I know the pain of grief firsthand. We have both experienced significant loss, including the death of a spouse and a stepchild, divorce, and the challenges of a battle against cancer. We understand the heartache that comes with these life-altering events.
But we also know that healing is possible. Our journey has shown us that through faith, resilience, and compassionate guidance, it is possible to rebuild a life full of meaning and purpose.
My Approach to Grief Recovery
I am dedicated to helping individuals move beyond their grief and into a renewed, purposeful life. I use a structured, faith-based approach to provide practical tools, Bible-based guidance, and compassionate support. My goal is to help you process your loss, rediscover your identity, and find new purpose, while healing at your own pace.
You do not have to walk this road alone. My mission is to provide a helping hand, resources, and a hopeful path forward. Whether you are struggling to make sense of your loss or are ready to take the next step toward a renewed life, I am here to help.
